Project Orchid – A Garden Transformation in Bedworth
Some jobs are tidy-ups, some are quick spruce-ups… and then there’s Project Orchid. This was a full-scale garden overhaul in Bedworth, front and back – the kind of project that requires rolling your sleeves up, brewing a strong tea, and getting stuck right in.
The Challenge
Our client wanted a complete reset. The old garden had seen better days, so we went back to square one: excavation front and back, with every bit of waste removed. Once cleared, we had a blank canvas to work with – and that’s where the fun began.
Building the Foundations
A great garden needs a solid backbone. We supplied and compacted Type 1 hardcore across the areas, creating a rock-solid sub-base. This ensures everything laid on top stays firm, level, and built to last (because nobody wants a wobbly patio…)
The Patio
Porcelain patios are the crown jewel of modern gardens – sleek, durable, and easy to maintain. For Project Orchid, we installed a wraparound porcelain patio, edged with charcoal block “picture framing.” It gives that crisp, finished look where you don’t just see a patio… you see a statement.
We even wrapped porcelain around the front of the property too, instantly boosting kerb appeal. Let’s be honest – first impressions matter, and this house now gives off serious “I’ve got my life together” vibes.
Turf & Planting
Once the patio was in place, we supplied and laid brand-new Grade A turf – the sort of lawn that makes neighbours peek over the fence and question their life choices. Against the fence line, we created fresh planting borders, ready for new blooms. The customer wanted the flexibility to plant at her leisure, so we set it up perfectly for future colour and character.
We also tucked in a neat porcelain area in the corner, ready for a summerhouse installation – an ideal little retreat spot for summer evenings.
Finishing Touches
Details make the difference. We repositioned the washing line to a new location, added ACO drains to make sure surface water runs away properly (no one likes soggy slippers), and generally made sure everything functioned as beautifully as it looked.
The Result
The transformation was night and day. From tired and uneven to modern, functional, and stylish – this property now has a garden to be proud of, front and back. A porcelain wraparound, new turf, proper drainage, planting areas, and borders all working together to give the home a brand-new look.
