The Bearded Gardener Prize Competition – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1. Promoter: The competition is organized by The Bearded Gardener & Property Maintenance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 10992578, with its registered office at 31 Hanbury Road, Bedworth, CV12 9BX.

1.2. Competition Overview: Participants have the opportunity to win a garden transformation worth up to £20,000 or a cash alternative of up to £10,000, subject to the terms outlined herein.

2. Eligibility

2.1. Age Requirement: Entrants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.

2.2. Residency: The competition is open to UK residents only.

2.3. Exclusions: Employees of The Bearded Gardener & Property Maintenance Ltd, their immediate family members, agents, or anyone connected with the administration of the competition are not eligible to enter.

3. Competition Entry

3.1. Entry Fee: Each ticket costs £20.

3.2. Skill-Based Question:

To enter, participants must correctly answer a skill-based question.
The question is designed to comply with UK prize competition laws.
Incorrect answers will be disqualified from the draw.

3.3. Number of Entries:

There is no limit to the number of tickets an individual may purchase.

3.4. Entry Method:

Entries must be submitted through the official competition page on The Bearded Gardener website.
Payment must be made via the WooCommerce Lottery plugin.

4. Competition Duration

4.1. Start Date: The competition begins on March 14, 2025.

4.2. Closing Date: The competition ends on June 30, 2025, unless all tickets are sold before this date.

4.3. Early Closure: If all 1,000 tickets are sold before the closing date, the competition will close early and the winner will be drawn sooner.

5. Winner Selection

5.1. Draw Process:

The winner will be selected using Google’s Random Number Generator from all correct entries.
The draw will take place within 7 days of the competition closing.
Confirmed orders will be allocated a ticket number in ascending order.

5.2. Winner Notification:

The winner will be contacted via email and phone.
If the winner does not respond within 14 days, they forfeit the prize.

5.3. Final Decision:

The winner is final, and no backup winners will be selected.

6. Prize Details

6.1. Main Prize – Garden Transformation

The winner will receive a garden transformation worth up to £20,000.
This includes design, materials, and labour.

6.2. Cash Alternative

If the winner does not want the garden transformation, they may opt for a cash prize of up to £10,000.
If all 1,000 tickets are not sold by the closing date, the cash prize will be reduced proportionally based on total funds raised.

6.3. Prize Adjustments

If fewer than 1,000 tickets are sold, the total garden transformation prize value will be reduced proportionally to the funds raised.
The final prize amount will be determined after deducting reasonable costs for running the competition.

6.4. Winner’s Location & Additional Costs

The garden transformation is available anywhere in the UK.
If significant travel or accommodation costs are required for the team, these will be deducted from the prize fund.

7. Publicity & Filming

7.1. Publicity Agreement

The winner must sign a publicity agreement before the transformation begins.

7.2. Use of Winner’s Details

The Bearded Gardener will only share the winner’s first name and general location (e.g., county) on social media.
No personal details will be disclosed without the winner’s consent.

7.3. Filming & Marketing

The garden transformation will be filmed and shared across The Bearded Gardener’s social media channels and website.
By entering, participants agree that the winner’s garden makeover will be used for marketing and promotional purposes.

8. Data Protection

8.1. GDPR Compliance

The promoter will process personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR regulations.
Entrants’ data will only be used for competition administration and will not be shared with third parties.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1. The Bearded Gardener is not liable for:

Any technical failures that prevent participation.
Any loss, damage, or injury incurred as a result of entering the competition or using the prize.
Any additional costs beyond the stated prize value.

10. General Terms

10.1. Changes & Cancellation

The Bearded Gardener reserves the right to amend, extend, or cancel the competition if necessary.
Any changes will be announced on the official website.

10.2. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law, and disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
